Design Architect Michael Murphy wrote this book through the lens of 10 of his projects including the Equal Justice Initiative’s Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, the gun violence memorial in Chicago, and the Embrace memorial for Martin Luther King Jr and Coretta Scott King in Boston. I heard Murphy speak about the book at The Brick, as part of a series of talks for The Monuments exhibit at The Brick and MOCA (that is closing, and free, this weekend). He talked about how architecture engages the body and changes you, and how you also shape space. How culture change affects policy change.
